He knows that you like him, so I think he probably tries not to do anything that would mislead you. But then he’s watching you from far away, probably there is some little interest. If he’s a good and honest guy, you should go straight to him and be honest with him. If his behaviour is bothering you or if you feel mocked, just go talk to him and tell him what you think.
