Is It Rude Not To Respond On Online Dating Sites?

It isn’t rude.

You shouldn’t feel obligated to respond to messages on online dating sites from people that you aren’t interested in.

You should also not allow yourself to feel guilty if some of those people were to take offense to the fact that you did not respond to their message and send you another message in reference to that.

Responding to every single message that you receive on online dating sites can make your online dating experience absolutely laborious and overwhelming.

This is especially true if you are a woman.

Women receive a lot more messages on online dating sites than men do.

Beautiful women receive even more.

It is not unusual for the average woman on online dating sites to receive as many as fifty messages or more in one day.

This is an incredible number of messages to deal with.

Having to respond to all these messages would make your online dating experience feel like a job as opposed to a search for a romantic mate.

Most of these messages will also tend to be very generic and superficial in nature.

These are messages such as, “Hi,” “Hi, how are you?” “Hello Beautiful,” “Hi, my name is INSERT NAME HERE, want to chat?” “What’s up Gorgeous?” “Hey there,” and so on.

It is not rude not to respond to these kind of messages in the slightest.

The people who send these kind of messages do not put any real effort into them. Thereby, it would not be fair for them to expect you to put in the effort to respond to them.

You are not obligated to respond to any message that you receive on online dating sites if you don’t want to.

Your energy on online dating sites should always be applied towards getting what you are looking for out of it.

This means that you would be engaging with only the people who you feel are your best romantic prospects.

If you were to start responding to every message that you receive on online dating sites, you may get to the point where you are so mentally exhausted that you may start having a lot less energy to continue interacting with the people that you are actually interested in.

Hence, you end up losing out on what you joined the online dating site for in the first place.

You joined to find a romantic partner, not to appease the sensitivity of people who send you messages that you are not romantically interested in.

It is not rude not to respond on online dating sites because no one is entitled to your time.

Time is our most precious commodity.

If you feel obligated to respond to every message that you receive on online dating sites, you would be giving away your most precious commodity for no good reason.

That time is best spent by being engaged in interactions with people that you are actually interested in on online dating sites.

It is not rude not to respond on online dating sites because by so doing, you would also be respecting that other person’s time and saving yourself the possibility of getting even more unwanted messages from repeated culprits.

Sometimes, people find it hard to take no for an answer.

Even if you were to respond to their message by thanking them for it but letting them know that you weren’t interested, some of them may still take that as a “yes” being that you responded to them in the first place.

Hence, you may find yourself in situations where this person that you have already responded to and politely advised that you aren’t interested in, continues to send you messages anyway because you responded to the first message that they sent.

They are simply not taking “no” for an answer and feel that they can convince you to reconsider by continuously sending you messages.

Going through something like this can make your time and experience on online dating sites absolutely miserable.

This could make you quit online dating and thereby lose out on the possibility of finding a romantic mate.

It is not rude not to respond on online dating sites. Everyone’s time is precious and yours is no different.
