Would You Be Embarrassed To Tell Someone You Met The Person You're Dating Online?

There is nothing to be embarrassed about in telling someone that you met the person that you’re dating online.

Online dating is one of the most popular ways that people are meeting their significant others.

Hence, there is a very high likelihood that whoever you tell that you met the person you’re dating online is either in a relationship with someone that they also met online or knows other people who met their significant others online.

In other words, it is a small world when it comes to dating online.

There may have been a time when dating online was stigmatized but that time has passed.

You may feel embarrassed about telling someone that you met the person that you’re dating online because you worry about giving the impression that you are socially inept or you don’t really have a social circle.

This is really something that you shouldn’t be embarrassed about.

There are a lot of people who are dating online who have very rich social lives.

They have friends and hobbies.

They know how to mingle with a crowd at a social event.

They know how to initiate and maintain conversation.

These are people who are well-rounded and aren’t socially inept in any way.

However, some of them have met their significant others while dating online because dating online was a viable option to them.

It’s not as if they chose to start dating online and consequently forgot all of their social skills as a result.

They haven’t suddenly forgotten how to make real live friends because they are dating online.

They haven’t forgotten how to mingle in a social environment because they are dating online.

They still have all of these qualities.

They simply chose to start dating online in the hopes of meeting a person that they may get into a relationship with because they were simply open to another avenue of meeting people.

They didn’t suddenly stop mingling with people at social events in the real world because they started dating online.

They didn’t suddenly stop trying to make friends and maintain the friendships that they already had because they started dating online.

You will realize that being embarrassed about telling someone that you met the person that you’re dating online is totally unnecessary when you understand that meeting a person in this way hasn’t changed who you were before you started dating online.

Dating online does not define who you are as a person.

Dating online does not change the fact that you had a well-rounded life before you started it.

Dating online does not change the fact that you had real life hobbies before you started it.

Dating online does not change the fact that you have had a social circle in the real world and still do.

All dating online indicates is that you were willing to try a new avenue in meeting people to date.

Again, dating online does not define who you are as a person.

Once you understand this, you will feel a lot less embarrassed to tell someone that you met the person that you’re dating online.

If you worry that this person would think of you negatively if you were to tell them that you met the person that you are dating online, you should ask yourself about why you hold this person’s opinion so highly over your own happiness.

This person is not responsible for your happiness.

You are.

By choosing to start dating online in the hopes that you would meet a person to date, you took your own life and happiness into your own hands.

Once you realize that the most important person in this equation is you and your happiness, you will feel a lot less embarrassed about telling someone that you met the person you’re dating online.
