Are Dating Sites Considered Cheating?

If you are in an exclusive relationship with someone and that person is actively using dating sites, this would be considered cheating.

Even if your significant other hasn’t met anyone physically from the dating sites, it is still cheating.

By chatting with people on dating sites, your significant other is susceptible to connecting with someone emotionally.

This means that they could ultimately start having an emotional affair with someone.

When they get to this point, they are not entirely emotionally available to you like they once were.

Someone else is also preoccupying their thoughts on a daily basis.

They are no longer only thinking of you whenever they are needing emotional comfort, they are also thinking about the other person.

In time, the rate at which they think about you may become less and less until it completely extinguishes.

At this point, you may be simply going through the motions with your significant other and nothing more.

It would almost be as if you are in an exclusive relationship with a zombie.

They are simply not present emotionally.

They go through their daily routines with you but there is a lack of energy in them.

However, they suddenly feel that energy whenever they get back on dating sites to communicate with the person that they are now feeling an emotional bond with.

This is how using dating sites are just a precursor to cheating.

Even if your significant other doesn’t ever meet the people that they are chatting with on dating sites in real life, they still make themselves susceptible to getting into emotional affairs with them.

Dating sites are considered cheating because the constant use of them by your significant other would mean that they are doing this behind your back.

In essence, they are finding opportunities to log into their online dating accounts when you are not present so that they can engage in conversations with people on dating sites.

This means that your significant other is being deceitful behind your back.

The more that your significant other engages in this kind of sneaky behavior, the easier it will be for them to think that it is alright.

They will become more and more emboldened to keep doing it.

This is the kind of sneaky behavior that makes it that much easier for your significant other to transition to physical cheating.

Being that they have been able to get away with communicating with people on dating sites behind your back, they feel that they would be able to get away with actually meeting some of these people in real life and having physical affairs with them.

This is how this kind of behavior makes your significant other feel less and less guilty about going behind your back to visit dating sites.

The less guilt that they feel, the more susceptible they are to taking their interactions with people on dating sites to the next level by actually meeting those people in life.

Dating sites are considered cheating because doing so indicates that your significant other may actually be denying that they are in a committed relationship in real life.

There is a good chance that a good number of the people that your significant other is chatting with on dating sites don’t even know that your significant other is in a relationship with you.

This means that your significant other is most likely acting as though they are single.

This kind of behavior would be akin to your significant other going about their day to day life hitting on other people and acting as though they are actually single.

Though they may not be engaging in a physical act of cheating in those moments, they have still put themselves in a very vulnerable position to do so.

If any of these people that they are hitting on were to really like them back and want to do something physical with them, your significant other may find it very difficult to turn them down.

This is the same kind of position that your significant other would be putting themselves in when they chat with people on dating sites and act as though they are single.
