Is It Bad When You Meet Someone On An Internet Dating Site And You Can't Find Them Anywhere Else Online In Any Shape Or Form?

You may be dealing with someone who is quite private.

Believe it or not, there are actually people out there who don’t have social media accounts or other ways that you can find them online.

This makes it a lot more difficult to gather any information about the person online in any shape or form.

This doesn’t mean that you are dealing with a bad person.

Some people are simply more private than others.

They may be more old-fashioned in their approach to socializing and may feel more comfortable with face to face meetings in terms of building friendships.

However, they may not be adverse to using an internet dating site to find love.

Hence, it is not necessarily a bad thing that you have met this person on an internet dating site and you can’t find them anywhere else online in any shape or form.

Another reason why this may be the case could also be that this person tends to use an alias online.

There are some people who do have concerns about using their real name on various social media sites and other online platforms.

They may worry about this for various reasons.

Perhaps they have had a previous bad encounter with someone who became obsessed with them online and started stalking them.

Being that this stalker knew their real name, they were able to find them all over the internet and harass them.

This could have gotten to the point where this person became worried about their own personal safety and that of people that they care about in their lives.

This does happen on the internet.

There are some people who spend a good chunk of their time stalking other people online.

They find them through searching for their real names and then begin the process of harassing that person through messages on every platform that they can find that person on.

This person that you met on an internet dating site may have been a victim of this at some point in the past.

As a result, they may have decided to start using an alias whenever they sign into any social media platform or online platform.

They simply don’t want to be stalked and harassed by people on the internet who have nothing better to do.

This person may also be using an alias online because they may not want people to start impersonating them online.

In essence, they may not want their identity stolen.

This is also something that frequently happens online.

A person’s identity can be stolen by scammers and used to open various false online accounts under that person’s name.

This person that you met on an internet dating site may have either experienced some form of identity theft or they may know someone personally who has.

Hence, they choose to use an alias whenever they get online so as to avoid falling victim to something like this.

In your world, you may be used to being able to easily find people online.

You can easily find your friends and colleagues.

However, your world may be totally different from what this person that you met on an internet dating site has experienced online.

This is why you should not automatically believe that it is bad that you can’t find this person that you met on an internet dating site anywhere else online in any shape or form.

There truly could be valid reasons for that.

If it is something that continues to bother you, you can ask this person about it.

Do so in a conversational manner, not a confrontational manner.

There is a good chance that they will be able to give you the reasons why that is.

Being that they are using an internet dating site, they are clearly not adverse to using some form of technology to communicate with people.

Hence, they would clearly be aware of the existence of social media sites and the like.

This means that they are most likely making a conscious effort in not allowing themselves to be found anywhere else online.

Again, it may be for totally valid reasons.

But, if it continues to bother you, you can ask them about it politely.

If the person’s answer isn’t satisfactory to you, you have a decision to make.

You can either take your chances and continue getting to know this person or you could end your interaction with them.

Being that it may not be wise to judge a person entirely based on whether they have an online presence or not, it may be best to give this interaction a chance.

If you were to ultimately meet this person in life and you are safe about it, you may end up being glad that you didn’t end your interaction with them simply due to the fact that you couldn’t find them anywhere else online in any shape or form.
